We provide personalized care to give patients a fresh start with increased energy and vitality. Sleep apnea is when someone ceases to breathe, while asleep, for ten seconds or more. Snoring is one of the most common indications that a patient might be suffering from sleep apnea and a diagnostic test is performed to determine if the patient is just a social snorer or has a medical problem called sleep apnea. Patients suffering from this disorder experience disruptions in breathing while they sleep, causing a variety of problems. Patients often wake up feeling not rested and also suffer from irritability, inability to concentrate, and morning headaches. When left untreated, sleep apnea has a number of potential long-term effects, which can seriously compromise overall health. Sleep apnea often goes undiagnosed and is unfortunately not asked about by most Primary Care Physicians when they meet with their patients.
What We Do
The first step towards finding relief from sleep apnea is its proper diagnosis. We offer in-home diagnostic testing devices and can provide care from any of our Patient Service Centers in California, or utilizing telemedicine we can send the device directly to your home. Once someone is diagnosed with sleep apnea, we work closely with both the patient and his or her primary care physician to determine the best course of treatment. Treatment options include PAP (Positive Airway Pressure) devices, oral appliances, and other methods.
Each of our patients works with his or her personal Sleep Care Specialist who is there to coach them to wellness. Personal Sleep Care Specialists, or sleep coaches, check on our patients' progress and make adjustments to any treatment plans as necessary. SleepQuest provides a continuum of care and a level of patient compliance that is unique in the field, while also ensuring that patient cost is reasonable. Doctors and insurance companies have come to rely on our services because we provide a financially feasible solution with consistently successful results.
Our Unique Approach
SleepQuest was founded in 1994 by Robert Koenigsberg, who wanted to create a new approach in sleep apnea care. SleepQuest began a paradigm shift in the industry. Koenigsberg himself suffers from sleep apnea and was unsatisfied with the level of patient care available. At the time of his initial research, sleep centers and home care companies offered a disjointed experience that left patients feeling harried and confused. Koenigsberg began SleepQuest with a focus on providing personalized sleep care that transitioned seamlessly from diagnosis to treatment to lifelong follow-up care.
We are proud to work with highly regarded specialists in the field of sleep apnea care.
Dr. William C. Dement has been SleepQuest’s Chief Scientific Advisor since 1999. Considered “The Father of Modern Sleep Science,” Dr. Dement founded the first clinical sleep laboratory at Stanford University in 1970. For nearly 15 years, he has been working through SleepQuest to provide a higher standard of care for sleep apnea, and to educate more people about the dangers and symptoms of this disease.
