Overview:

We are currently seeking a results-oriented Controller who has recently worked in a healthcare environment to join our fast-paced San Carlos corporate team.

As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for all of the company's financial operations and will provide guidance to the executive team regarding budgeting, planning and reporting.

You will play a critical role in shaping both our company's business plan and our overall vision. You will ensure that the company is viewed by our investors, customers and employees as having superior, streamlined finance and reporting operations.


Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the general ledger and analyze/reconcile monthly general ledger accounts to supporting documentation
  • Perform monthly closing processes
  • Ensure timely reporting of monthly financial information to the executive team and Board of Directors
  • Oversee quarterly inventory counts and control procedures
  • Ensure timely reporting of all taxes with the appropriate agencies
  • Manage cash
  • Manage to targeted finance-related goals such as accounts receivable metrics.
  • Monitor compliance with bank loan covenants
  • Primary interface with external auditors
  • Assist in the preparation of, and provide ongoing monitoring of company performance against the budget and current business plan
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and provide competitive analyses
  • Maintain the fixed asset ledger
  • Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards
  • Review all contracts with vendors and ensure consistency and compliance to company policies
  • Manage the company's stock option program
  • Establish and maintain a journal entry control system
  • Ensure timely collections by monitoring and maintaining all subsidiary ledgers for customer activities
  • Ensure timely medical billing and invoicing of all revenue
  • Daily supervision of bookkeeper and medical billing supervisor
  • Perform "ad hoc" and periodic analyses

Requirements:
  • Minimum of two years' experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller in a small healthcare company – REQUIRED
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel and Word) - REQUIRED
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Proven financial reporting and accounting skills, along with auditing experience
  • Experience negotiating contracts with suppliers and medical insurance companies
  • Proven ability to anticipate business issues and visualize the company's long-term goals
  • Excellent analysis skills and "ad hoc" analysis/reporting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Creative self-starter who is able to effectively communicate and collaborate across all levels on an organization
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Working knowledge of Brightree software a plus
