Your Premier Partner for Sleep Disorder Diagnosis and Treatment
Video: About Us
Without a good night's sleep, a person's health can suffer. SleepQuest has been testing and successfully treating sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, for over 20 years. Our patient-centered and price-competitive approach allows you to do testing and treatment from the comfort of your own home.
When Robert Koenigsberg founded SleepQuest two decades ago, diagnosis and treatment for sleep apnea was disjointed, and the current medical standard did not provide a single source, low cost option allowing patients to become compliant with their treatment. Mr. Koenigsberg, a sleep apnea sufferer himself, wanted to create a more integrated and personalized home diagnostic and treatment process that focused on the well-being and comfort of the patient. Working with respected experts, SleepQuest has pioneered a unique system using home testing and treatment empowering Primary Care Physicians to medically manage their patients with sleep apnea. Dr. Dement has been an advocate of this approach for years. To learn more about sleep disorder care, contact one of our San Francisco Bay Area based offices.
He and Robert believed the company should complement sleep laboratories that are uniquely qualified to assist patients with neurological sleep disorders. In fact, the sleep study interpretations SleepQuest provides are performed by board certified sleep specialists. We offer unmatched compliance with treatment all from the comfort of your own home. If you are suffering from the symptoms of sleep apnea, we will work with you and your physician throughout the testing and treatment process. Once we determine that you do have sleep apnea, you will be assigned your own sleep coach. The profound personalization that a sleep coach provides is one of the hallmarks of SleepQuest’s diagnostic and treatment approach. Your coach will guide you through ordering your at-home sleep test and help you choose the best treatment device and mask for you. Throughout treatment your sleep coach will be available to answer your questions, guide you through the process, and make any adjustments to your treatment as needed.

Compliance and Effectiveness
Some doctors and insurance providers dislike prescribing PAP and other non-invasive methods of sleep apnea treatment because patients so often neglect to use their devices. At SleepQuest, we provide a greater level of patient accountability; resulting in an unprecedented level of patient compliance. By working closely with our patients, we ensure that they are comfortable using their devices and help them make any adjustments necessary so they continue treatment. An astonishing 91% of our patients use their PAP devices properly, enjoying relief from symptoms and an improved quality of life. Our high level of compliance is largely due to the training and experience of our Sleep Care Specialists who, unlike home care companies, spend each day working solely with people suffering from sleep apnea. Within the initial 48 hours of use, our coaches’ work with you to make sure you are benefitting from the treatment and that you wake up feeling refreshed. In addition, at one month after a patient begins treatment, we review their compliance during the first 30 nights to determine if any adjustments need to be made, before sending the compliance report to the referring primary care or other physician. This keeps their doctors informed and helps ensure that patients are following their treatment plan. We also have a separate department called Ongoing Care that follows up with our patients every 90 days to make sure they have the right supplies and are pleased with the results of their treatment.
Personalized, Ongoing Care
Once you are diagnosed with sleep apnea, there are supplies that are replaced at regular intervals. Fortunately, we’re contracted with every major insurance company in the United States so we can arrange for you to receive these items and we bill the insurance company. Patients will be required to pay the percentage owed to our company and to meet their deductible if it hasn’t yet been met. Most insurance companies pay for a majority of the items every 3 months and others every 6 months. We will provide you with an invoice that will describe each product provided, the amount that we charge, the amount that we agree to accept from the insurance company and any co-insurance to be paid by you. If you’re having difficulty with any of the supplies or devices then our Ongoing Care team will refer you to a Sleep Care Specialist who will work with you to resolve the problem. It is very important that the supplies are in good condition and replaced regularly in order to remain compliant with your therapy.
